About World of Wallpaper
30 Years of Building Interiors, Before We Ever Sold a Roll of Wallpaper
I’m Vineet Suri, founder of World of Wallpaper. I didn’t start out selling wallpaper — I started out on construction sites and design tables, working with architects, in 1995.
That was the year I launched my first company, Xceptional Concept, providing quality interiors to some of India’s major architects. Ten years later, in 2005, I founded Wall Art Pvt Ltd, right as Gurugram was still becoming the city it is today. I spent those early years transforming interiors for India’s major builders and brands — DLF, MGF, Ramada, PVR, Parsvnath, Country Inn & Suites, Tech Mahindra, and Taj among them.
By the time I brought World of Wallpaper to homeowners directly, I already had close to three decades of knowing what actually holds up in a real Indian home — what looks good in a showroom versus what survives a Gurgaon summer, a family with kids, or a client who changes their mind three times before installation day.
Why I Started World of Wallpaper
Working closely with India’s top architects and interior designers for years, I kept seeing the same gap: incredible design work, but no easy way for homeowners to access the same quality, same designer names, and same level of expert guidance that architects took for granted.
World of Wallpaper exists to close that gap. We bring the same designer collections — Sabyasachi, Cole & Son, Nilaya by Asian Paints, Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Krsnaa Mehta, Payal Singhal, D’Decor, and Marshalls — directly to homeowners, with the same end-to-end service we’ve always given our commercial and hospitality clients: on-site consultation, wall preparation, precise measurement, and installation, not just a roll of paper handed over the counter.
What We’ve Built Since
Under our group, World of Wallpaper now sits alongside Kingdom of Curtains, Kingdom of Wallpapers, and Unico Wall Panels — so a project can move from wallpaper to curtains to wall paneling without switching vendors or explaining the brief twice.
We’ve had the privilege of working on some of the most demanding interiors in the country, including the presidential suites at Hotel Ashoka and Taj Mansingh, and residential projects across DLF Aralias, The Magnolias, The Palm Springs, Sobha International City, M3M Golf Estate, and DLF The Crest. Alongside our commercial and hospitality work, we’ve partnered with names like Claridges, PVR, Emaar, Bharti Group, and L&T.
In 2026, we became the first company in this industry to bring AI-powered wallpaper design directly to homeowners on our own platform — because I believe the next chapter of this business isn’t just about choosing from a catalogue, it’s about designing exactly what you want, then having it made and installed properly.
We Don’t Just Sell Trends — We Design Them
Most wallpaper sellers wait for a design house somewhere else to decide what’s fashionable, then stock whatever shows up in the catalogue months later. That’s never been enough for us.
Because we sit at the intersection of construction, interior design, and direct homeowner relationships — a position very few players in this industry occupy — we see shifts in taste before they become obvious. When a certain botanical print starts showing up in five different architect briefs in the same quarter, or when clients across DLF Aralias and M3M Golf Estate start independently asking for the same textured, matte finish, that’s not a coincidence to us. That’s a trend forming in real time, and we act on it.
Today, our in-house design team actively studies and creates trending wallpaper designs rather than simply reselling what’s already trending elsewhere. We track what’s moving across:
- Global design cycles — the biophilic, nature-led motifs, textured faux finishes, and heritage-inspired patterns that are shaping interiors internationally
- India-specific aesthetics — the renewed demand for Indian motif designs, Pichwai-style art wallpaper, and spiritually-resonant patterns for pooja and formal spaces, which most international design houses simply don’t address
- What our own clients are asking for — direct feedback loops from architects, interior designers, and homeowners across every project we run, which tells us what’s coming before it shows up in any trend report
- What our AI design platform reveals — since we became the first company in this industry to let homeowners design their own wallpaper with AI, we now have a live, ongoing view into what people actually want to put on their walls — colors, motifs, and styles they’re generating themselves, in real time, rather than choosing from a fixed shelf
This means when you walk into our showroom or browse our trending collection, you’re not looking at last season’s international catalogue reprinted for the Indian market. You’re looking at designs we’ve identified, refined, and often created ourselves — built specifically for how Indian homes, and increasingly Indian tastes, actually look and feel today.
It’s also why our custom design capability matters so much to us. A trend isn’t something we want you to simply accept — if what’s trending isn’t quite right for your space, our team and our AI platform exist precisely so you can take that trend and make it yours: your color, your scale, your motif, produced and installed by us. We’d rather help you create something that’s genuinely your own than sell you something that’s merely popular.
This is, honestly, the part of the business I’m most excited about right now. After thirty years of installing other people’s designs, being able to say we shape what’s trending — not just distribute it — feels like the natural next chapter for World of Wallpaper.
Beyond the Business
I’ve written about the branding and marketing challenges architects and interior designers face in my book, New Age Branding for Architects and Designers, drawing on what I learned building brand value for the design professionals I worked alongside for years.
I also run TOT — Talk of the Town, a YouTube channel where architects and designers showcase their work and get the visibility their projects deserve. It came out of the same instinct that started World of Wallpaper: architects and designers do exceptional work, and often the only thing missing is a platform to be seen.
